RAY Group upholds the value of Corporate Social Responsibility and endeavors to achieve the objective of CSR through pollution & waste reduction, participating in educational and social programs and uplifting the society by supporting the needy.
The Group has initiated many charitable activities which tells for it corporate citizenship.
While engaged in the activity of electrical construction in the Sharqiyah region, the Group realized the need for electrification of the prayer halls in this area. Thus eight mosques in the township of Libedha, right after Jalan Bani Bu Ali that lies in the Sharqiyah region, were electrified by RAY Projects team. It was team effort that lasted for nearly 2 months. The team also provided civil maintenance to all these mosques.
In the same area, the team built boundary walls for these mosques as well as the grave yard. Till date, the Group is remembered fondly by the township people in the name of this noble cause.
In Mukhaizna, an oil rich desert land, in the South of Oman, RAY Oil and Gas team has presence as they are executing Work Over Rigs Service contract where Occidental L.L.C is their business partner. Although there are many Companies operating in the fields for Occidental, there was no mosque in this area for prayers. RAY Management realized the need to have a mosque in Mukhaizna and today there is a beautiful mosque offering serenity and peace to all believers, attached to the RAY Camp, but open for all Muslim comrades.
The Group’s corporate responsibility is not confined to the boundaries of Oman. In Tanzania, RAY has established an orphanage which has provided food and shelter for 60 inmates, all boys and girls below thirteen years of age. Established in 2013 and known by the name “JARIBU Orphan Charity Centre”, this institution is managed by a team of two elderly ladies. The children are provided government education but uniforms, books and all other associated academic needs are catered to by the RAY team. Recently, within the orphanage campus, the team has also instituted “Madressa” for Islamic studies.
The participation and contribution of RAY within the social scheme in Oman is noteworthy. There are continuous initiatives and involvement from RAY within the various communities and ministries. Not only does RAY provide funds, but also its knowledge and experience to the industry and ministerial initiatives. RAY participated in following activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility:
- RAY Day Out for children of Al Khoud orphanage
- Blood Donation Camp
- Quriyat Challenge
- Support and relief for the Japanese from Japan Earthquake
